About the t-shirt
This t-shirt tributes Dan Donnelly, the legendary 19th-century Irish boxer (course back then they called them ‘pugilists’) who beat a man so badly in 1814 in County Kildare that they built a shrine to commemorate the brawl on the very spot it happened on. These days it’s called ‘Donnelly’s Hollow’.
If you visit there you can even still seemingly see the big boxers footsteps trod into the ground from when he left the bout.
The story doesn’t end there either.
After the boxer died in his early 30’s his huge big arm was amputated for study and is still in Kilcullen town near Donnelly’s Hollow.
